The academic collection of essays produced in parallel to the exhibition "Meta. space Raumvisionen" at the Francisco Carolinum Linz is dedicated to the thematic complex of the metaverse from an art historical perspective, in an examination of analog, digital, and intermedial artistic positions.
"If Jan Van Eyck Had Designed on the Computer" explores the connection of the spatial-sociological relationships between the pictorial composition of medieval sacred paintings and the spatial structures of contemporary digital environments.
