ALCAVOID
XR Game & Research Project
2020
Alcavoid is a therapeutic XR application designed to assist clients with alcohol dependence in behavioural therapy developed at the DE:HIVE Centre for Games at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences in close cooperation with the University Medical Centre Hamburg Eppendorf. The goal of Alcavoid is to evaluate if the success of behaviour therapy is enhanced through immersive technology.
Participants are offered different beverages and are tasked to classify the bottles by their content. A pilot study was conducted based on data collected through the application. Alcavoid and its corresponding research are part of the Interreg project Baltic Game Industry.
