Level Design
︎ 5 CP | SUMMER SEMESTER 2022 | DE:HIVE | HTW-BERLIN
The key to good level design is to craft an environment that primarily contributes to the gameplay, and includes visual effects to primarily enhance the player’s ability to make progress in the game.
I taught students how to create grey box levels in the Unreal Engine and also methodological approaches such as level design patterns, and designing with affordance in mind.
The course was conducted by a team of lecturers, including ︎David Witzgall and ︎Zwi Zausch who taught students the artistic and technical usage of lighting, texturing, and the conscious use of the Quixel pipeline.
